Are You Inspired By Oprahs Big Give Too-www.av7788.com

THE FIRST BIG GIVE WAS THIS I was quite impressed when my mentor Ellie Drake got inspired by the Big Give that Oprah Winfrey started. Ellie inspired her community, The Braveheart Women to also get inspired by the Big Give. The Braveheart Women community came through in very big. Way – $100,000.00 collected in 24 hours and 10 homes belonging to victims of Katrina hurricane repaired. I feel blessed to have been a part of a team that gave big to such a worthy cause. I believe that the Big Give should be a magnet for everyone to start giving bigger. For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land. Deuteronomy 15:11 TO THE POOR If you can not give big, give what you can. The poor widow gave her last two pennies and that touched the heart of God:Have you heard the saying the more you give the more you receive? Do you believe that is true. The only way to be sure is to try it for yourself. It is more blessed to give than to receive. Acts 20:35 I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive. Jesus called his disciples to him and said, I tell you the truth, this poor widow has given more than all the others who are making contributions. For they gave a tiny part of their surplus, but she, poor as she is, has given everything she had to live on. Mark12:43-44 THE BIGGEST GIVE EVER For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life JOHN 3:16. I have always gotten a thrill out of giving, not just financially, but of my time, love, inspiration, wisdom and knowledge and service. I do believe it is better to give than to receive. Giving is a reciprocal act, so we have to give our lives to God. Freely ye have received, freely give. Matthew 10:8 My favorite verse about giving is: Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again Luke 6:38. This verse has resonated with me since my elementary school principal who was also my Sunday school teacher taught me this verse about forty years ago. OTHER VERSES ON GIVING A man’s gift makes room for him and brings him before great men Proverbs 18:16 AMP He who despises his neighbor sins against God, his fellowman, and himself, but happy (blessed and fortunate) is he who is kind and merciful to the poor. Proverb 14:21 Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away. Matthew 5: 42 And whoever gives one of these little ones only a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple, assuredly, I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward. Matthew 10:42 NKJV But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing Matthew 6:3 NKJV Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver 2 Corinthians 9:7 TNIV TO THE RICH Tell those rich in this world’s wealth to quit being so full of themselves and so obsessed with money, which is here today and gone tomorrow. Tell them to go after God, who piles on all the riches we could ever manageto do good, to be rich in helping others, to be extravagantly generous. If they do that, they’ll build a treasury that will last, gaining life that is truly life. And oh, my dear Timothy, guard the treasure you were given! Guard it with your life. Avoid the talk-show religion and the practiced confusion of the so-called experts. People caught up in a lot of talk can miss the whole point of faith. Overwhelming grace keep you! 1 Timothy 6:17-21(MSG) In the spring of 2006, a couple years after quitting my job, due to stress and what I called unjust treatment, I found myself questioning God about the state of my finances. As the Holy Spirit normally does, He took me to Gods Word that always has the answers. In this particular case He took me to Psalm 73 and I was amazed at the answers I found to my questions. As I asked God why I see some people who do not serve Him, seem to do so well financially and some of those who serve Him do not. He had some answers for me and I found peace in His promise after reading Psalm 73. I found on pages 673 and 674, the following Psalm as I turned the pages of my Bible of my Bible. A PSALM TO PONDER PSALM 73 Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart. But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped. For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked. For there are no bands in their death: but their strength is firm. They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men. Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them as a garment. Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish. They are corrupt, and speak wickedly concerning oppression: they speak loftily. They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth. Therefore his people return hither: and waters of a full cup are wrung out to them. And they say, How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most High? Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches. Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocency. For all the day long have I been plagued, and chastened every morning. If I say, I will speak thus; behold, I should offend against the generation of thy children. When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me; Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end. Surely thou didst set them in slippery places: thou castedst them down into destruction. How are they brought into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors. As a dream when one awaketh; so, O Lord, when thou awakest, thou shalt despise their image. Thus my heart was grieved, and I was pricked in my reins. So foolish was I, and ignorant: I was as a beast before thee. Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand. Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever. For, lo, they that are far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all them that go a whoring from thee. But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works.
